2006 Pontiac Solstice

After driving my 2006 Pontiac Solstice at 55mph and suddenly losing power as the car was jerking back and forth, I pulled off to the shoulder of the high way and the car jumped forward again and I hit the curb causing a scratch in the side of my car. It was only after I shut the car off and started it again that any of the warning lights came on. I looked on the internet and found that Pontiac was aware of a catastrophic failure of the catalytic converter back in 2009, and a GM dealer would replace it at no cost. I contacted Pontiac about the scratch in my car from the accident which was a direct result of their part failure. They told me they would not fix the scratch and it was not their fault. If I would have been killed in a more serious accident would they have taken the same stand? In my opinion this should have been fixed back in 2009

Hucksters and thieves STAY AWAY FROM DRIVE NOW SANTANDER

Please take heed.stay away from these hucksters.I am giving the car back..28% interest. 2 year ago the car was 19,000 just a simple 4 cyl g-6 only air no cruise or anything. now the payoff is 24,000.00 after 19 payments of 559.00. I also want you to know the dealer Johnny's Pontiac was forced out of business with GMAT revoking their license. it seems they are all in it together. i also am writing consumer affairs and complaining. also a letter to the credit bureau's. They can ruin my credit, but I will continue to post the truth on the BAD. 81,000. they take advantage of the poor,.

Poor Warranty and Customer Service

Ok so here's the thing I purchased a windshield wiper arm for my 03 Grand Prix. Well I received the item in the mail a few days later great I'm excited I'll get my drivers did windshield wiper fixed so I can drive the car. and it only cost about 30 dollars. Well when I installed the part it didn't work...not sure why if it was to big or what when I looked inside the grooves in the arm that grabbed the transmission grooves on the car they were all messed up and defected. Due to this problem the wiper arm wouldn't grab and just sat there useless as can be. So I wrote up an e-mail to the people I purchased it from....which was at www.Buy-OEM-Parts.com it's a great website very good discounts on parts. Well they told be the part was defective and they could either have me ship it back or it would be much easier to just take the invoice and take it to a local dealer who could replace it on the spot. Well I was out of state when I received this email but decided hey I might as well stop on my way through Dubuque, IA and when I went in the owner was a bit confused on this deal and his only request was that I showed him a copy of the e-mail (which I did) downside was he had to part in stock and was going to have to order it which I wouldn't be around so I told him thank you I would just do it at home. I then went home and went to my local GM dealer and told them of the defective part. The dealer first went to look at the car and told me their was nothing wrong with the wiper arm that it was the transmission and it would cost me 110 dollars for parts to have that replaced. Believing him I took my items home and went to look at the parts before ordering them. I wanted to do an experiment I wanted to take the passenger side arm and put it on the driver side to prove his theory...but long behold...it worked how could this be. So I took it back and felt maybe he made a mistake, like all humans do, and would apologized and replace the part....nope he told me a new story he told me he couldn't replace the part because I didn't purchase it at that dealership and would have to take things up with the online dealership...which at this time is still willing to replace the part provided I pay the shipping to mail it. After having this discussion about me not being able to exchange the part there even though GM warranty said I could I called the online dealer and with in seconds was able to talk to a representative who could help me he said it was *** that they were treating me like this and I should just demand the part be replaced...but I was still always welcomed to mail it in if it was easier. I then turned around and went back into the dealership told them what this rep had said and he once again changed his story and said he needed to talk to his boss who came out looked at my car told me the transmission story again I told him I tried that and it worked fine. He then said that the only way he could replace it was he had to first test the item to see if it worked....fair enough...until he said he would have to charge me for labor for and I told him no he was to do it for free it's GM's mistake not mine and he started screaming at me and calling me ***...sure explains why he wanted to move to a private setting. This is *** it's not hard to replace a 30 some dollar part in a company making billions..or at least was. No wonder GM is going down the craper there is no customer service 2 other dealerships treated me the same one saying they refuse to do online exchanges. Don't buy GM parts or GM vehicles I do like the vehicles as cheap as they look and are but with that kinda customer service I know my next car will be a ford

Let me get this straight. You SAVED money by buying your part on-line.

Then spent countless hours, on your dime, to correct the on-line dealers mistake. After all they sent you the defective part. Now it is the job of every local dealer to help YOU after you pissed in their face in the first place.

With friends like you GM doesn't need enemies. Please buy a ford.

just have to say thanks, people like you are what keeps the auto repair industry booming.

2 weeks after owning 2004 Sunfire with 27,000 kms.

I bought my 2004 Electric Blue Sunfire from Dale Downie Pontiac in London On. I drove it 1000 kms' and a noise developed in the front suspension after the first week . I called them after two weeks and told them I thought it had a noisy driver side front strut bushing . I live 2 1/2 hours from the dealership and they told me to go to my local dealer . I went to Slessor Pontiac in Newmarket , a guy calls me March28,2008 and asks me to okay a $59.89 charge for inspection ? He left me no choice or the car wouldn't be inspected . So after getting the car back , I notice all they've done is spray lubricant ( oil ) onto each front upper strut . the guy on the phone says well its an old car ! Old car at 28,000 kms? He should give his head a shake and spray the oil up there at no charge and have a happy customer leave their service department ! I am 48 years old and have had Chevrolets all my life and I really am starting to wonder why ? So if you here a noise when you go over bumps on the front , save yourself a few bucks and spray oil up at the bearing on your front struts . I own a 1971 Nova SS that I have serviced myself for 19 years , it doesn't make a sound when I drive it down the road . I believe its because i take pride in what I build . You'd think somewhere in a GM used car warranty they can afford to eat up this charge . Yes I'm pissed off ! P. Machek / Bradford Ontario Canada

Pontiac {idol air control motor}

Last year my wife and I purchased a 2005 Pontiac Grand am,which after the first year was an awesome car,great gas mileage & drove nice.That is until about 3 weeks ago when my wife was on her way to work the car suddenly took off on her and with her foot off the gas it would run 80MPH on its own.She almost got into a terrible accident that really had her scared and shook up.The only way she made it to work was to ride the brake to keep her speed down and to stop at a light she would have to put the car in neutral and would rev up as high as it could,by the time she got to work it was overheating.She then had a mechanic check it out and he told her it was the IDOL AIR CONTROL MOTOR,we got the part changed,which lasted two days and the car took off on her again,That was when she refused to ever drive it again for safety.I have always loved Pontiac cars and owned many of them but after this experience I may not get my wife to ever want another one and I don't blame her.
